Guide for child and adolescent participation: a rights-based approach
/Rights-based toolkit with age-adapted activities (6–16 years) to plan and run child participation.
This guide by EDE Fundazioa compiles practical activities, dynamics and tools to foster children’s and adolescents’ participation from a child-rights perspective. Aimed at educators, youth workers and municipal teams, it helps plan and run participatory experiences in formal and informal settings. The guide clarifies objectives and competencies (decision-making, critical thinking, empathy, conflict management), and offers age-adapted resources for 6–16 year-olds. It encourages moving from one-off activities to structured participation that builds community belonging and agency (from family and school to the municipality). The resource can be used as a ready-to-apply toolbox or as a curriculum to progressively develop participation skills across contexts.
