Shreya Basu

Shreya is the Chief of Country and Local Programs at Open Government Partnership (OGP), where she oversees its global engagement and support strategy. She also oversees the development and implementation of OGP’s learning and accountability agenda. Prior to this role, Shreya led OGP’s work in the Asia-Pacific region, supporting governments and civil society in member countries as they advance open government reforms. She has co-led strategic initiatives for OGP, such as the expansion of the OGP Local program, and has strengthened the organization’s framework for parliamentary engagement, and developed its strategy for 2023-2028.

Previously, Shreya led the research and monitoring team at Publish What You Fund, producing its annual Aid Transparency Index and successfully advocating for some of the world’s largest donor agencies to make their aid transparent. She has also worked with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore, where she conducted research on anti-corruption and public sector reforms in South and Southeast Asia, and in the private sector for Ernst & Young, implementing fraud investigation and compliance programs for multinational clients operating in India.

Shreya has a master’s degree in international relations from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
