Shreya Basu
Shreya is a development practitioner with more than twenty years of experience advancing good governance and public sector reform across the private sector, academia, and multilateral organizations. She previously served as Chief of Country and Local Programs at the Open Government Partnership (OGP), where she led the development and operationalization of organizational strategy and oversaw engagement with OGP’s 75+ national and 150 local members, as well as the partnership’s learning and accountability agenda.
Previously, Shreya led the research and monitoring team at Publish What You Fund, producing its annual Aid Transparency Index and successfully advocating for some of the world’s largest donor agencies to make their aid transparent. She has also worked with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore, where she conducted research on anti-corruption and public sector reforms in South and Southeast Asia, and in the private sector for Ernst & Young, implementing fraud investigation and compliance programs for multinational clients operating in India.
Shreya has a master’s degree in international relations from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
