Katya Petrikevich

Katya is the co-founder and international director of Participation Factory, a People Powered member organization and social enterprise that helps communities improve governance systems and quality of life through better participation and robust data. She focuses on mainstreaming best practices in public participation and community engagement. For People Powered, she also works toward these goals as a member of the Global Participatory Budgeting (PB) Practitioners Board, a mentor for the Rising Stars mentorship program, an advisor to the Civic Tech Review Committee, and a coordinator of the Central and Eastern Europe regional hub.

In the course of her work, Katya has supported the domestic and international offices of a civic tech company and provided expertise for the development of new methodologies. She conducted research on current trends in tech and innovation for the EU Commission, trained young Western African leaders and activists in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, and served as a jury member for the Prague Civil Society competition SWITCH.

An alumna of New York’s Columbia University and Sciences Po in Paris, Katya tries to bring her extensive knowledge of political science and human rights into the field of participation and civic engagement, with special attention to the issues of gender parity and inclusion of marginalized groups.
