What Is Participatory Budgeting? Guide for Schools

A step-by-step curriculum prepared by the Participatory Budgeting Project for educators to run a youth-led participatory budgeting (PB) process in a classroom or school setting.

The guide is designed for use over a semester (or adapted to longer) and guides teachers and students through the full cycle of a participatory budgeting process: planning, idea collection, proposal development, voting, and implementation. It includes lesson plans, guidance for idea collection strategies and a comprehensive planning section.
