Rocío Annunziata, Senior Fellow

Rocío is the lead editor of the participatory policymaking content of the Participation Playbook, a member of the Global Participatory Budgeting Research Board and a mentor with our Climate Democracy Action program.

An associate researcher for CONICET, she is based at the Political Research Institute of the National University of San Martín in Argentina. She has a Ph.D. in political studies from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) and another in social sciences from the University of Buenos Aires.

Rocío also currently works as an adjunct professor of contemporary political theory at the University of Buenos Aires and as a professor of political science at the National University of San Martín. She directs the collection Contemporary Political Thought at Prometeo publishing house and is a member of the #NoSinMujeres Network of Political Scientists.

In her research, Rocío addresses the transformations of democracy, contemporary forms of citizen participation and digital activism. She has published works on participatory budgeting in Argentina and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on its digital development.
