Toolkit for youth democratic action

This toolkit, developed based on participatory budgeting experiences in Chicago schools, aims to make PB easier to implement with teachers and youth in schools across a wide variety of models and contexts.

Created through a participatory action research methodology, the toolkit brings together the knowledge and experience of PB experts and Chicago Public School administrators and teachers to develop new resources and tools; document information about how PB has been implemented in Chicago; consolidate PB resources and tools used teachers in previous PB processes or created by national experts, and create a format that is geared towards classroom teacher needs.

The toolkit includes background information on PB, addresses key questions for planning your PB process, provides a detailed PB session planner, and highlights case studies from Chicago schools.
