Christine Odeph, Community Manager
/Nairobi, Kenya
Christine Odeph is a community and engagement professional working at the intersection of participation, learning, advocacy, and global collaboration. With over seven years of experience in the non-profit and humanitarian sectors, her work focuses on supporting socially conscious practitioners and networks to connect, learn from one another, and strengthen practice from within.
Her work centers on designing and facilitating member engagement and peer learning across diverse contexts. She has worked closely with technical teams and experts to translate complex ideas into accessible, actionable learning, and to create spaces where knowledge can be shared and applied in practice. Her experience includes convening workshops, leading virtual learning sessions, and supporting community-driven initiatives.
In recent years, she has deepened her focus on member engagement across multi-country networks. She is particularly interested in how participation shows up in practice: what actually works, what gets stuck, and how communities can support more grounded, usable approaches.
Her approach is shaped by a mix of experiences, including an early background in journalism and development communications, which trained her to lead with questions and listen closely. She pays close attention to how people show up in spaces, to what is said, what isn’t, and how trust, clarity, and tone shape whether participation feels possible.
Christine joins People Powered as Community Manager and is excited to support and learn from its global member community.
