Aidana Zhumabekova, Programs Associate

Astana, Kazakhstan

Aidana is deeply committed to advancing the intersection of education, technology, and public participation. At People Powered, she brings this passion to life by managing online learning experiences through the Learning Management System (LMS), supporting users, and ensuring that our digital platform fosters inclusive, effective learning. She also plays a key role in our accelerator programs, co-creating session content, analyzing LMS data, tracking participant progress, and providing hands-on support to ensure a meaningful and smooth learning journey.

Aidana began her professional journey as an English teacher for children in her hometown in northern Kazakhstan. Her dedication to empowering young learners led her to pursue a master’s degree in Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While studying in the U.S., she deepened her understanding of civic participation and participatory democracy—areas she now explores with a strong focus on adapting global practices to local contexts in Kazakhstan and beyond.

Outside of her work at People Powered, Aidana is passionate about programming and continues to explore how digital tools can expand access to civic engagement and learning.
