We’re hiring a fundraising manager

We’re hiring! We’re seeking a fundraising manager to help raise funds to support participatory democracy around the world.

What we’re looking for

You are an exceptional writer and communicator with a track record of securing and managing grants and contracts related to democracy and participation. You excel at working with team members and partners to identify funding opportunities, quickly turning ideas into clear and compelling funding proposals, and smoothly managing grant administration and reporting. This includes managing fundraising research, prospect cultivation, proposal writing and administration, while also supporting and working with other staff and members to reach fundraising goals.

The position builds on a strong foundation of institutional fundraising, with multi-year general operating funds and partner contracts providing stable and flexible financial support. In the organization’s first two years, we have grown to a budget of nearly $2 million, with six months of cash reserve. This is a new position, which may be either full- or part-time.

Participatory democracy enables community members to make the policy decisions that affect their lives, together with government officials. In practice, this takes place through programs such as participatory budgeting, participatory policymaking, participatory planning and citizen assemblies. We support this work by sharing and developing resources, building the capacity of local organizations and leaders, and advocating for policy changes. We focus on supporting organizations and advocates with the greatest needs, especially those in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
