Democracy Narratives: What works—and what doesn’t

Join us for the release of new global research on how narratives can strengthen democracy - and why this matters now more than ever. The new set of research materials synthesizes nearly 400 academic and practitioner publications, evidence from over 150 studies, and insights from more than 30 international organizations and funders.

This is the first public event of the Democracy Narratives Alliance: a global initiative to develop narratives and framing strategies that increase engagement and support for democracy.

This conversation will also reflect on initial lessons from the Democracy Narratives Alliance, including:

  • Which democracy narratives can help foster support and engagement

  • How to use framing, structure, and values to invoke narratives that can activate greater participation

  • Practical recommendations for practitioners, campaigners, and storytellers interested in harnessing the power of narratives

  • Updates on the DNA's priorities and next steps - and how you can get involved
