Join an inspiring space for democratic innovation at the Nets4Dem Democracy Lab in Bilbao, taking place from 10–12 February 2026. Hosted by Eurocities, the City of Bilbao and Arantzazulab, this three-day Lab brings together city teams from across Europe to tackle pressing democratic challenges — especially how to engage young people meaningfully in democratic life. Participants will explore Bilbao’s participatory governance practices, visit local youth initiatives, and work in peer teams with democracy practitioners and experts to co-create practical solutions that can be implemented back home.

The Lab focuses on strengthening democratic values through lived experience, building civic culture with and for young people, and experimenting with technologies — including digital tools and AI — to deepen participatory processes. Cities and regions are invited to bring a real challenge from their context, design actionable prototypes with support from facilitators, and leave with ideas ready to put into practice. Registration is open to local and regional governments and organizations delivering public services.
